I'm successfully booting into 8.
I'm hoping when I jump to 8. I'm sure it has to to with using the v. I'm ASUS A8V-XE someone else using our mobo will be having this problem, and now we don't have to blame ubuntu for it.

Comment 7 Marc DeTrano BIOS is up-to-date with latest from Asus. There hasn't been ASUS A8V-XE activity on this bug for a while. After all was said and done, the VIA chipset is really the culprit on this board.
I will still buy ASUS products as this board is really the only problem product I've ever used from ASUS A8V-XE. It would be ASUS A8V-XE of them to do a BIOS update and fix all of these issues but I'm not holding my breath though.
